Those registered in the exporters category benefit from shared facilities such as the National Yam Export Pack House and other Pack Houses all across the country, shared facilities in destination countries, access to the standard printing plate for cartons used for export, direct purchase of standard export quality yams from yam aggregators and other yam conditioning facilities across Nigeria, access to markets, linkage to off-takers, etc.
To register, you require Certificate of Incorporation with Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria and Exporters Registration Certificate from Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC). Nigeria yam exporters are given unique exporters code on registration and must promote the Nigeria Yam brand in all exports.
For avoidance of doubt, all yams leaving Nigeria shall leave as Nigeria Yam and the carton shall as designed by Engr. Prof. Simon V. Irtwange, FNSE and approved by the Technical Committee on Nigeria Yam Export Programme in conjunction with the Nigeria Export Promotion Council. Members are issues membership certificate and identity card which is renewed based on payment of annual subscriptions.
